What can I expect from The Horizon of Khufu?
The Horizon of Khufu immersive expedition is a unique virtual reality experience taking visitors on a journey through ancient Egypt. This expedition takes visitors to the heart of an exceptional monument from a fascinating era.
How long does the experience last?
The immersive virtual reality experience lasts 45 minutes. We recommend you allow 1 hour to drop off your personal belongings and get ready.
In what language is the experiment presented?
The immersive expedition is available in three languages: French, English and Chinese.
Can I offer a gift voucher?
Yes, by going to the
“gift card” section, you can buy a gift card online.
Can I take pictures or record the experience?
Yes. We invite our guests to take photos and videos for personal use
only and would love for you to tag us at
@horizonofkhufu_stratford.
Please note, the use of flashes and tripods are strictly prohibited. Press
photography (and any other photography for professional use) is only possible if authorized by a staff member.
Is it possible to wear eyeglasses?
Yes, people who wear glasses can experience our expedition in virtual reality. Our staff will be on hand to show them how to position the headset correctly. Note to any visitors wearing prescription glasses, we advise using normal reading glasses as other types such as varifocals may lower the overall viewing experience.
Do you offer guided visits?
We offer on-site guest attendants throughout each phase of the experience. Although we do not offer guided visits, you will always be able to interact with one of our staff members for any needs and or questions.
What is the minimum age and height for the immersive expedition?
The immersive virtual reality expedition is forbidden for children under 8 years old and less than 1.10 meters tall. Children over 8 are the sole responsibility of their parent(s) and/or guardian(s).
Is it necessary to dress a specific way for this experience?
We recommend dressing comfortably and wearing suitable shoes. Because you will be wearing a VR headset, please refrain from wearing hats or caps.
For everyone's safety, we kindly ask you to store your backpacks and handbags in the lockers provided on site.
How many people can take part in the experience in the same group?
A group is made up of 4 visitors, but several groups of 4 people can follow the expedition and travel together.
Is the experience accessible for people with reduced mobility?
Yes, the immersive expedition is accessible to people with reduced mobility. A lift is available to access our venue. There are no steps within the space hosting the expedition and the equipment is adapted for people with reduced mobility.
How do I book a ticket for my carer?
Carers are welcomed at the exhibition with free admission upon showing the appropriate documentation at the entrance. Please note that the guest requiring assistance must have a valid ticket. Here are a few of the documents we accept:
- Middle or Higher rate DLA for care and/or mobility.
- Receipt of Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
- Evidence of being severely sight impaired.
- CredAbility Access Card – + 1 category requirement.
- A recognised Assistance Dog ID Card.
Can a deaf or hard-of-hearing person follow the experience?
The visual content of our immersive expedition is not subtitled so it is not suited for customers with a hearing impairment .
Are backpacks allowed into the experience?
For the safety of others, backpacks (even small ones) are not permitted.
What does the equipment consist of?
The immersive expedition equipment consists of an adjustable virtual reality headset.
Will food and beverage be available on site for purchase?
Unfortunately, there won't be food or beverage for purchase at this event.
Will there be strobe lights?
This event won't include strobe lights.
TICKETING
Can I buy tickets on site?
Yes, you can buy your tickets on site for the same day if there’s availability, or for a later date. However, it is preferable to buy your tickets through our online ticketing service.

What methods of payment are accepted on site?
Accepted methods of payment are credit and debit cards.
Can I reschedule my tickets?
Generally, Fever tickets are non-refundable. Subject to availability, changes of date and/or time are permitted up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience. In such a case, please contact
Fever Customer service indicating your ticket ID. For more information, you can refer to our
T&Cs.
What happens if I am late for my time slot?
It is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes before the time stated on your ticket. If you miss your check-in time, you should speak to a staff member when you arrive for assistance, and if possible, we will try to accommodate you by giving you access to the site upon your arrival, or else sadly, you will lose your ticket.
Is it possible to transfer a ticket to someone else?
If you wish to transfer ownership of your ticket to another person, you can do so from your Fever account. Tickets can only be transferred individually. Once you've transferred a ticket, we cannot undo the action. Any order with a transferred ticket will become non-refundable.
Is it possible to buy a ticket at the door?
It is possible to purchase tickets on-site. However, we highly recommend getting your tickets in advance!
Do I have to print my ticket?
No, we can scan your ticket electronically on your phone. However, to make the map easier to read, you can print out your ticket.
Can I come back a second time for free?
Tickets for the experience are valid for one entry only.
Can I refund my ticket(s)?
Generally, tickets are non-refundable. Subject to availability, changes of date and/or time are permitted up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience. In such a case, please contact
Fever Customer service indicating your ticket ID. For more information, you can refer to our
T&Cs.
I can't find my ticket. What can I do?
You can find your ticket with the QR code in the Fever app, within the Tickets section. If you don't have it installed, you can download it from the Apple Store or Google Play. Remember to log in using the same account that you used when buying the tickets. If you still cannot find your ticket, please
contact us .
How can I redeem my Gift card if I bought it prior to the 31st of January 2024?
LOCATION & PARKING
Where is the experience located?
The experience is located in the street section outside the main mall, opposite Tempur Mattress and The White Company store and next door to Lokma restaurant. The address is Unit SU1060, The Street 1, Ground Floor, London E20 1EJ.
Does the experience take place in an indoor or outdoor venue?
This experience is held indoors in an air-conditioned venue.
Is there parking available?
The Horizon of Khufu does not offer parking, but, we recommend using the paid parking service available inside Westfield Car park A (155-156 Westfield, London E15 2DU)
Are there lockers and or a coat check on site?
Lockers with keys are at your disposal. It is important to access them before entering the experience.
What are the closest metro stations?
The closest Underground stations are "Stratford International" and "Stratford".
HEALTH & SECURITY
Can the virtual reality experience be uncomfortable or unsuitable for certain people?
Virtual reality provides a reliable and enjoyable experience, but it
may be uncomfortable for some individuals. It's not recommended for those
with claustrophobia.
People prone to motion sickness may also experience discomfort when using a VR headset. This might lead to symptoms like drowsiness, increasing the risk of injury during real-world activities.
Can a person with a heart condition or epilepsy take part in the virtual reality experience?
No, people with a heart condition or epilepsy cannot take part in our immersive virtual reality expedition.
Can children do virtual reality alone?
Children aged 8 to 12 must be accompanied to take part in the
experience.
The Horizon of Khufu experience is suitable for families with
children aged 8 and above. Children under the age of 8 are not allowed to
participate, even when carried by an adult, for safety reasons.
Are service dogs allowed?
Due to the nature of the multi-user tracking technology, we permit service dogs only for a seated experience in a wheelchair (provided in the venue) to avoid collision with other users in virtual reality (A carer is required). To avoid collisions between users and ensure appropriate health and safety of the experience, we suggest customers to avoid booking during weekends between 10:00 and 18:40.
Can you do the experience with a child in a baby carrier or stroller?
No, the equipment and immersive medium makes it unsafe to carry a baby, whether it's on the stomach or back, and the use of a stroller is also considered unsafe.
I have hearing aids. Am I able to do the experience?
Yes, a person wearing a hearing aid can follow and hear the content of the experience. The virtual reality headset has small speakers that emit sound over the ears.
Are there toilets in the venue?
No, there are no toilets in the venue. Our visitors can use Westfield toilets in the shopping center.
GROUP BOOKINGS
Is it possible to sit during the experience?
No. The experience is made for you to wander the space for 45 minutes. For individuals with reduced mobility, we are happy to accommodate you. Please see more information below.
Are school group visits offered?
Yes, The Horizon of Khufu is a great activity for schools and day camps interested in exploring history, art, and technology. Are corporate or private group tours available?
Do all the members of my group have to be together to register?
Yes, if you want to do the experience together. If your group may arrive at different times, we suggest you order your tickets separately.
